Meeting: Incoming Projects
We are looking to make a video talking about our recent camp experiences and going to keep updating our Instagram and twitter so don't be afraid to comment potential video ideas or things you want us to talk about in future blogs.
Diabetes no doubt has a major impact and influence on our lives as diabeT1cs. In order to remember and celebrate the growth I have gone through, I got a tattoo that incorporated the blue circle, red medical star, diagnosis date, etc. It took a lot of planning and designing but it turned out just how I would want it to. I'll have it for the rest of my life along with my diabetes.
CAMP AZDA: 2019
We spent a week up in Prescott Arizona at Friendly Pines Camp where the ADA held a week long camp for specifically type one diabetics. We got to learn how others have handled living with diabetes and their tips and tricks of what they do to control their numbers. Through various activities and healthy food habits, our blood sugars dramatically improved and staged in range a majority of the time. Not only did we have a blast, but this camp has encouraged us both to keep maintaining our sugars so we can keep coming back to see all our fellow diabetics again!
ADA Event: Pump Fair
On Thursday night, we visited Banner Health hospital and attended the informational meeting on the different pump companies and spoke to each representative about their newest technology that either just came out or will soon be released. The companies that were represented were Omnipod, Medtronics and Tslim which aligns with Dexcom which is a CGM(continuous glucose monitoring system) company.
